Canadian Region Tournament Championship Game:

Toronto High Park (ON) 5, Glace Bay (NS) 1 (TITLE)

Summary:

Toronto's High Park Little League avenged its defeat in the 1994 Canadian championship game with a 5-1 victory over Glace Bay in the title game of the 1995 region tournament at Perth, Ontario. The win earned High Park its third trip to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

High Park rode the strong right arm of Armando Aruaz in the title game. Arauz struck out eleven and limited Glace Bay to three hits to earn his second victory of the tournament. Christian Chmielewski iced the title game win with a three-run homer off of Glace Bay lefthander John MacDonald in the fifth inning.

High Park and Glace Bay had previously met on the final day of round robin preliminary round competition. Both teams had already clinched berths in the title game: High Park with a 2-0 win over Whalley (BC), and Glace Bay with a 1-0 decision over Lennoxville-Ascott (QC). When the two finalists met in their round robin matchup, both teams held out their ace pitchers so they would be eligible to pitch in the championship game. Glace Bay's Ryan Young picked up his third win of the tournament in the Colonels' 4-1 win.
