Because New London served as the host for the East Region tournament, two Connecticut leagues advanced beyond in-state tournament play in 1971. To accommodate this, instead of holding a single state tournament, Connecticut held two divisional tournaments. The winner of both tournaments advanced to the East Region tournament.

Championship Game Host - South Windsor (District 8)

District 6 Champions Torrington American
District 7 Champions Rocky Hill
District 8 Champions South Windsor
District 9 Champions Clinton
District 10 Champions Waterford South
District 11 Champions Thompson

Opening Round:
Clinton 2, Thompson 0
Rocky Hill 2, Torrington American 1

Semifinal Round:
Clinton 4, Waterford South 1
South Windsor 10, Rocky Hill 1

Championship Game:
South Windsor 8, Clinton 1 (TITLE)
