Summary:

After waiting 42 years for its second state championship in the major baseball division, M-O-T Little League needed just one year to claim another title.

M-O-T rallied from a 6-5 final inning deficit, and defeated Naamans Little League, 9-6, in the deciding game of the Delaware state tournament at Lewes.

With the win, M-O-T returned to the Mid-Atlantic Region tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, for the second consecutive year.

Shortstop Dominic DiSabatino, one of three returning players on M-O-T's roster, helped engineer the comeback with a two-run home run that pulled his team in front in the top of the sixth inning of the deciding game. Adam Weber added insurance with a two-run single before pitcher Tommy Spagnolo closed out the tournament by registering a pair of strikeouts and inducing a game-ending grounder.

Naamans had taken a 3-2 lead earlier in the game, before run-scoring singles by Brennan McAllister in the third and Chad Bell in the fourth gave M-O-T the lead. Josh Billings added a solo home run in the fifth for the winners.

The title game marked the fifth time in six years that M-O-T has reached the state championship game, and the third time during that span that M-O-T and Naamans met in the tournament's final game. Naamans defeated M-O-T in 2003 en route to a berth in the Little League World Series, and topped the District 1 winners again in the 2006 state tournament.

The title game was also the third meeting in the tournament between the two clubs. Naamans won the first contest, scoring multiple runs in each of the first three innings of a 10-5 win in the tourney opener. After both teams notched wins over Georgetown Little League, M-O-T forced the tournament to a final game by handing Naamans a 7-0 defeat. Eleven-year-old Sam Cochran helped M-O-T extend the tournament, earning his fourth win of the international tournament with a two-hit shutout.

Weber and Bell produced RBI singles to fuel a three-run rally that gave M-O-T the lead in the second inning. Bell added an RBI single in the fourth, before McAllister's three-run homer later in the inning capped the scoring.
