Dante Parks struck out nine batters and allowed just one hit, and his Honolulu Little League all-star team topped Central East Maui Little League, 2-0, in the championship game of the Hawaii state tournament at Pride Field on Oahu.

The victory was Honolulu's third in as many games at the state tournament, and it gave the District 7 champions their second-ever Hawaii championship in the major baseball division. Honolulu won its first title in 1997 when the league was known as Kaimuki Little League, before changing its name in 2010.

Honolulu scored both of its runs in the top of the sixth inning, and earned its second win in as many games against Central East Maui. After opening the tournament with a win over Kailua Little League, Honolulu blanked Central East Maui, 6-0, in the winners' bracket final.

Central East Maui, which returned several players from the league's 2014 major baseball division state championship team, then earned a rematch with Honolulu by dispatching Waipio Little League, 3-1. Central East Maui generated all of its runs in the fifth inning of that victory, as Sebastian Beaudoin delivered a run-scoring single, Connor Palieria drew a bases loaded walk, and Kevin Varner, Jr. drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Pitcher Kaeo Kamau struck out nine batters in 5-1/3 innings, before Varner, Jr. closed out the game by recording the final two outs.

After winning the state championship, Honolulu advanced to the West Region tournament in San Bernardino, California. Honolulu won all four of its pool games in this tournament, and advanced to the semifinal round before suffering a 1-0 defeat against Pacifica American (Northern California) Little League.
