Summary:

Norwood American defeated Peabody American in the first night game in Massachusetts State Tournament history, then ousted Worcester Jesse Burkett to claim the title. Peabody took an early 1-0 lead on Mark Shorey's RBI double in the first, but Norwood rallied back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first to take a lead it would never relinquish. Norwood padded the lead with single runs in the third and fourth innings before Chris Shamos' homer completed the scoring. In the other semifinal, Worcester overcame a 5-1 fifth inning deficit to eliminate Barnstable National. Norwood American then beat Jesse Burkett in the title game.
