The Nevada State Tournament

The number of Little League baseball programs in Nevada has grown steadily over the past thirty years. Leagues are scattered throughout the state, with a heavy concentration of leagues in the Reno/Carson City and Las Vegas areas. The state originally encompasses a single district, but as Little League baseball has grown in Nevada -- and especially in the Las Vegas area -- the number of districts has increased. Today there are four districts in Nevada, and the champions of these four districts meet in a double-elimination state tournament that crowns the Nevada state champion.

The Nevada state champion advances to the West Region tournament in San Bernardino, California. The West Region winner then advances to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

No Nevada league has ever participated in the Little League World Series. Henderson's Green Valley Little League finished as the region runner-up in 1983 and 2001. The 1983 squad lost the region championship game in extra innings to the Sacramento Pacific Little League (Northern California), while the 2001 team fell in a championship game meeting with Oceanside American Little League (Southern California).
