Championship Game:
Wallington 4, Collingswood 3 (TITLE)

Summary:

Wallington pounded out 25 hits in its two state tournament victories, including 13 in the championship game. In that win, leadoff hitter Keith Linquist and pitcher Ed Janusz keyed Wallington rallies in the first and fourth innings as the District 5 champions built a 4-0 lead. Linquist (three title game hits) led off the game with a double and scored on Janusz's single; in the fourth, he again doubled and came around on a Janusz single. Janusz fanned twelve and allowed only three hits on the mound.

In the semifinal round win over Bergenfield National, George Paras allowed only a fourth inning single -- the first hit he'd allowed in three tournament games -- and an eight run, nine hit fourth inning outburst carried Wallington to the win. John Kondel struck the key blow. The game was scoreless, but Wallington had loaded the bases on three singles, and Kondel rapped a fourth hit to center. One run scored initially, but two more came in when the Bergenfield catcher threw wildly to third in an attempt to throw out the runner rounding third.
