Adam Fomoso's chop to third in the bottom of the seventh inning pushed across the winning run and completed Nottingham's comeback from an early 3-0 defecit in its opening round win over Manapalan -- and the District 12 champions rolled from there. A 10-run sixth inning and Matt Wolski's 13-strikeout effort on the mound keyed a 17-1 thumping of Sparta in the winner's bracket finals, and a 10-run third inning toppled Clark in the title game.
Nottingham also won the Eastern Region tournament, and lost a tense 1-0 U.S. title game at Williamsport to Long Beach, CA on Ryan Beaver's opposite-field, foul-line hugging home run to lead off the sixth inning.
