The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinal round.
Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.
In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Ontario Provincial Championship Game (Sunday, July 29)
Brockville 5, East Nepean 4 (TITLE)
Summary:
John Kalivas' two-run double capped a four run fifth inning rally, and helped to lift Brockville Little League to a 5-4 victory over East Nepean Little League in the championship game at the Ontario Provincial tournament.
The victory gave Brockville its first Ontario championship since 1980, and advanced the District 7 champions into the Canadian Region tournament at Regina, Saskatchewan.
"It's really exciting because we haven't gotten out of the district in a while," said Brockville manager Dan Burns after the championship game. After winning 16 district championships in 18 years beginning in 1987, the Braves had not advanced beyond the district tournament in either of the past two years.
Brockville had lost to East Nepean, 3-0, on the first day of pool competition at the provincial tournament, but took an early lead in the championship game. Mitchell Doucette celebrated his thirteenth birthday with a solo home run to open the scoring in the second.
Neither team scored again until the fifth, when East Nepean struck for three runs. The Eagles, winners of two of the past three Ontario championships, took the lead on pitcher Brandon Smith's two-run double, then added a third run on a passed ball. Brockville responded in the bottom of the inning, as Dylan Bell slammed the first pitch of the inning over the right field fence to halve the lead.
Brockville then loaded the bases with one out, and re-took the lead after Smith reached his pitch count limit and was forced to change positions. A passed ball scored the tying run, then Kalivas drove in the go-ahead runs.
Brockville then escaped a final East Nepean rally in the sixth to close out the win. The Eagles loaded the bases with nobody out, and a sacrifice fly narrowed the Braves' lead to a single run. After a walk re-loaded the bases, Brockville induced a strikeout and groundout to claim the program's sixth-ever Ontario championship.
In addition to their 1980 title, Brockville won Ontario championships in 1959, 1971, 1973, and 1974.
"Once they got the lead, I like the way our kids responded," said Burns. "It's the sign of true champions."
Brockville won its final four games at the provincial tournament after the opening day loss. The Braves defeated the Stoney Creek Optimist Little League, 6-3, and concluded pool competition with an 8-2 win over tournament host Erindale Little League. Brockville then used single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to snap a 2-2 tie and defeat Windsor South Canadian Little League, 4-2, in the semifinal round.
East Nepean, which had won the Ontario championship in 2004 and 2006, swept all three of its pool opponents, then built a 4-0 lead before defeating Port Arthur Continental Little League, 4-2, in the other semifinal round matchup.
