The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinal round.

Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.

In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Summary:

Pat Cuffaro singled in the tying and go-ahead runs as the Turtle Club Little League rallied from an early deficit and defeated Toronto's High Park Little League, 5-3, in the Ontario provincial championship game at Riverside Park in Pembroke.

Cuffaro's hit helped to key a four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning, as the Turtle Club turned a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead. The Turtle Club won its first Ontario championship since 1999, and its third overall, and advanced to the Canadian Region tournament in Val d'Or, Quebec.

Noah Renaud sparked the rally by reaching on an error, then Connor Rosaasen walked before Cuffaro drove in both runners. Colin McVittie and Avery Meloche followed with run-scoring singles that widened the Windsor-area league's lead.

High Park built an early lead by scoring runs in the first and third innings. Christopher Noti scored the Braves' first run, and Nathan Arrude doubled the lead in the third. The Turtle Club halved the High Park lead in the fourth when Connor Dias scored, but the District 5 champions left the bases loaded when High Park pitcher Adriane Anlacan struck out the inning's three batters.

Dias held High Park to just two hits over five innings, before Renaud closed out the win in the sixth.

Both teams easily won their pools in the eight-team tournament, and then posted semifinal round wins. The Turtle Club outscored three pool opponents by a 33-1 margin, and High Park captured its three games by a cumulative 31-1 score.

In the semifinal round, the Turtle Club edged Orleans Little League, 3-1, while High Park capitalized on a series of errors to eliminate Kingston Little League in the other half of the bracket.

At the Canadian Region tournament, the Turtle Club won five of its seven games, including a 10-2 victory over North Regina (Saskatchewan) Little League in the semifinal round. The Turtle Club fell, 9-2, to Vancouver's Hastings Community Little League in the Canadian championship game.
