Oregon's first state tournament was held in 1959. Prior to that point, leagues from Oregon competed with leagues from other states in tournaments leading up to the region finals.
Portland Northeast won the inaugural Oregon title in 1959, one year after future major league pitcher Rick Wise led his Rose City Little League to a berth in the Little League World Series.
