Summary:
Joe Dintaman struck out 12 and drove in a pair of runs to lead Camp Hill past Pittsburgh North Borough 5-2 in the 1953 Pennsylvania state title game. Dintaman's second inning base hit broke a 1-1 tie, and his fourth inning double plated an insurance run for the Harrisburg area squad.
In the semifinals, four of Camp Hill's eight hits were home runs as Camp Hill overwhelmed Bethleham 7-2. Chip Lundy, Dintaman, and Vince DeSilvistri all roped two-run homers, while Bruce Brubaker connected for a solo homer. In the other bracket, North Borough's Matt Szykowny erased a 3-1 Lewisburg lead with a two-run homer in the second, and then provided the winning run with a solo homer in the seventh. Bobby Kifolo's three-run homer in the first inning provided all of the Lewisburg offense.
