Texas State Champions in the 1950s

The 1957 Texas state champions actually came from south of the Rio Grande -- Monterrey, Mexico's Industrial LL claimed Texas District, Sectional, and State Tournament crowns en route to its storybook World Series championship game victory over La Mesa (CA) Northern. Monterrey repeated the feat in 1958, but advanced to Williamsport and an expanded World Series as the Latin American Region champions.

Leagues from Robstown and Galveston followed Monterrey's win with state championships of their own.
