Brattleboro extended its success, winning four state championships to give the league 10 of the first 23 Vermont titles. Brattleboro claimed consecutive titles for the third time in its history in 1977 and 1978, while North Burlington also won back-to-back championships in 1975 and 1976.
Bellows Falls and Essex Junction were first-time winners in 1973 and 1974, respectively.
