Among the Western Region champions in the 1990s were the legendary Long Beach Little League teams in 1992 and 1993. Long Beach became just the second league ever to repeat as Southern California champions in consecutive years, and became the only team ever to win back-to-back Western Region titles.
Overshadowed by Long Beach's success was the San Ramon Valley Little League of Danville, California. San Ramon Valley became the only team in California (Northern or Southern) history to win three consecutive Divisional crowns, and SRV placed first, second, and second in the Western Region tournament from 1991-1993.
Other notable winners include the earthquake kids from Northridge (1994), the 1996 Moorpark Little League team that won a tripleheader to emerge from the loser's bracket in the Western Region tournament (completing a suspended 16 inning victory and then sweeping previously unbeaten Aiea, Hawaii), and the 1997 U.S. champions from the South Mission Viejo LL in California.
