Postscript:

Musashi Fuchu advanced to the Far East Region Tournament at Hagatna, Guam. Seven teams competed in the tournament, and Musashi Fuchu finished round-robin competition with a 5-1 record. Musashi Fuchu's only loss was to Saipan by an 8-2 score in the tournament's second round, and left the Japanese champions in a three-way tie for first place with Saipan and South Korea at the conclusion of round-robin competition.

Musashi Fuchu drew a bye in the first tiebreaking round, and defeated South Korea 2-1 in the region championship game to advance to the Little League World Series.

At the World Series, Musashi Fuchu won all three games in international pool competition, but lost 5-4 to Sierra Maestra Little League (Maricaibo, Zulia, Venezuela) in the international championship game.
