Summary:
Brick National Little League overcame three deficits to push past North Trenton Little League, 11-10 in seven innings, in the 'if' game of the New Jersey state tournament. Justin Marsch's game-tying grand slam capped a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning as Brick National rallied to force extra innings. After North Trenton regained the lead in the top of the seventh, Brick scored twice when down to its final out to seize the title. Marsch capped the game with a single to right field that advanced Jimmy Kish to third base, and when the throw to third squirted away, Kish dashed home and knocked the ball loose from the catcher to score the game's' deciding run.
Brick National had edged North Trenton 6-5 in the winner's bracket final, then North Trenton scored all ten of their runs in the top of the seventh inning in the first championship game meeting to force the tournament to a deciding game.
