Summary:

Lake Jackson American rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to steal the title from San Antonio Northwest. Billy Koning opened the sixth by reaching on an error, then scored on Mike Marquardt's attempted sacrifice bunt when the pitcher's throw to first hit Marquardt in the back of the helmet and rolled into right field. After a groundout, Marquardt scored on a game-ending passed ball. Northwest's Mike Heafner lost despite allowing only four hits and no earned runs.

Lake Jackson's Mark Senterfitt, pitching on one day's rest, fired a one-hit complete game. James McQuien had Northwest's only hit and scored the game's first run.

In his team's 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Bryan North, Senterfitt struck out 13 and fired another one-hitter.
