The top four teams advance to the semifinal round.

Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.

In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Burlington 11, Lowes Creek 5 (TITLE)

Summary:

Mitchell Klug led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, and Cal Tully added a grand slam in the second inning as Burlington Little League defeated Lowes Creek, 11-5, to win the Wisconsin state championship at West Bend Little League's field.

The win was Burlington's second over Lowes Creek in three days, and gave the District 6 champions their first-ever major baseball state championship in the 51-year history of the program.

Kross Kruger earned the win for Burlington, holding Lowes Creek to two runs through the game's first four innings. Reliever Houston Cowan closed out the win and helped Burlington to advance to the Great Lakes Region tournament in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Burlington dropped its opener at the state tournament, losing by a 5-2 margin to a Telulah Little League team comprised of the core group of players from the prior year's state championship team in the 10-11 year old division. But Burlington rebounded from the defeat to win its four remaining games in the round robin portion of the tournament schedule, and then topped Wisconsin Dells Little League, 6-3, in the semifinal round.

The semifinal round win lifted Burlington into the state championship game for the first time in the league's history. The league's Ginger Beaumont and Frank Roth division all-star teams had previously won district championships in 1968, 1984, and 2003.

Lowes Creek, which finished 2-3 in round robin competition, surprised Telulah in the semifinal round. Pitcher Connor Severson struck out eight over four-plus innings, and Telulah stranded eleven baserunners as Lowes Creek avenged an earlier loss with a 9-4 victory. Lowes Creek was also playing in the state championship game for the first time.

Burlington won its first two games at the Great Lakes Region tournament, and advanced to the semifinal round before falling to Moline National (Illinois) Little League by a 6-5 score.
