Summary:

Randolph stroked seven hits in the first 1-2/3 innings of the championship game (and took a 3-1 lead), but Pittsfield West relief pitchers Scott Tobler and Bob Sokolowski held Randolph without a hit the rest of the way as Pittsfield West rebounded for a 5-3 title game win. Randolph led 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth when first baseman Paul Penna clubbed a two-run homer over the right-center field fence to push Pittsfield in front. Randolph had two baserunners thrown out and a third called out for passing another runner in the first two innings.

The semifinal contests saw the two top pitchers in the tournament throw complete game shutouts. Pittsfield's Mike Sweener handcuffed Arlington in a 12 strikeout, no walk, four hit performance, while in the nightcap, Randolph's Kim Langway struck out 11 and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning of his team's 2-0 victory over Medford.
