Summary:

Lee sent eight batters to the plate in the first inning of the title game and jumped to a 2-0 lead against Andover National lefthander Todd Guzowski, but Andover roared back to take an 11-2 lead en route to its first state title. Guzowski allowed only one hit from the second through the fifth innings, while Andover scored multiple runs in the second, third, fourth, and sixth innings to pull away. Guzowski's two-run single in the third snapped a 2-2 tie and gave Andover National the lead for good. Andover National later won the East Region Tournament in Bristol, CT, and became the first Massachusetts team to qualify for the World Series in Williamsport since Winchester did so in 1955 and 1956.
